Where was I?

I am still alive. Coming to the end of school (been waiting for this since year 1) and keeping up with my projects.

I keep mentioning them to everybody and saying how I'm working on it, but what exactly IS happening?

I wish I could show you at least a frame of my school Art final-piece, but unfortunately -- examiners.

You can, however, see my other wip project and sketches for it:

There are more skethes and concepts, but a lot of them are spoilers.

AGE RATING

The plan is to rate it as PG-14 or 15+ (I am overthinking this a lot for a good reason). The reason for it is themes of the cartoon and the audience's likelyhood of being able to actively spectate/interract with the material, rather than passively intake the media. Throughout this time working (and as I grew up in the process) I tried to limit violence as much as I could, due to my understanding of what kind of impact art can make on the viewer.

Here is the list of things to look out for:

  • Verbal abuse
  • Disturbing imagery
  • Very little blood
  • Mild violence

Some may say: "But I've seen times worse! This should be fine!". No, little Jimmy, the problem is not that you have already seen things you shouldn't have, but the fact you keep on feeding your mind more of it. Of course, this is just me trying to be humurous, but the point is that it's not the quantity, but the quality. With repetition, certain ideas are engraved in people's minds without them noticing as they consume media. My project will have warnings and disclaimers and well as some advice about applying "active spectatorship" while spectating.

UPCOMING SCHOOL PROJECT?

Yes, when that is complete and no examiners would be chasing me, I will certainly upload in on YouTube and here. It is a short animation on how some forget that they were once young. I play with various media such as stop-motion and hand-drawn, digital-traditional animation.

And there it is. For now I am just getting ready for exams and relaxing whenever I get the opportunity, at times chipping on projects.

Peace,
